Free 4-pole Filter PlugIn
NorthPole is a free effects plug in for AudioUnit compatible applications on the Macintosh. It adds a fully programmable virtual analog synthesizer filter with resonance, envelope follower and an integrated post-filter digital delay to your audio production environment.
Please note that an older Mac VST/RTAS and a Windows VST version is available (click the links to download them). They are unsupported any may not work on recent systems. Try them at your own risk.

Version History:
New in v1.01: Tap tempo
Repeatedly clicking on the “Dly Time” text area directly above the delay time slider sets the delay time to the time interval between the clicks. This “tap tempo” feature comes in handy when adjusting the tempo of the delay.
New in v1.02: True stereo processing
NorthPole is now using a true stereo filtering algorithm
New in v1.03: Better support of Carbon hosts
NorthPole’s UI has now been improved to work with a larger variety of Carbon-only hosts, such as DSP Quattro.
New in v1.1: Speed and compatibility improvements
Speed improvements (approx. 2x faster than previous versions). Enhanced compatibility with MacOS X 10.5.7 and Carbon-only hosts such as Live and DSP Quattro
New in v1.11: Channel configs updated
More speed improvements. Added support for mono->mono and mono->stereo channel configurations
New in v1.1.2 – beta1 (18-08-2009):
Does no longer rely on event loop to trigger screen updates (fixes compatibility problems with Sound Studio 3). Uses Cocoa-over-Carbon window UI approach on hosts that do not support Cocoa UIs
New in v1.1.2 – beta2 (20-08-2009):
Fixed problem with Peak Pro 6. Fixed missing save/restoreGraphicsState calls
New in v1.2.0 (26-08-2009):
Changed UI layout to be compatible with Live 8.05. Fixed initialization and Cocoa namespace bugs. Added backwards compatibility with Logic 7
New in v1.2.1 (28-08-2009):
On Carbon-only hosts clicking the Cocoa window activates the underlying Carbon window as well. On Carbon-only hosts using regular (ie. non-floating palette) windows for displaying the plug in user interface, key events are now handled correctly. On Carbon-only hosts holding down the “control” key while opening the plug in editor now displays the user interface in a separate window.
New in v1.2.2 (08-11-2010):
Ported everything to 10.6 and Xcode 3.2.4. Fixed problem with Carbon/Cocoa overlay. Cleaned up code.
New in v1.2.3 (10-11-2010):
Fixed crash on MacOS X 10.5.
New in v1.2.4 (13-01-2011):
Added 32/64bit Cocoa native version.
