Karlsruhe, October 16th, 2009 – Prosoniq has recently be made aware of several web sites that are selling what they call “OEM versions” of our products at suspiciously low prices ($10-20 USD). We don’t currently bundle our software with other products so this “OEM version” (if you ever get it from that “store”) is a fake, at best an illegal copy of the product that will not work on any current system.
Any Prosoniq product that you purchase that comes without a serial number is, without exception, an illegal copy. Illegal copies will not receive technical support from us, they cannot be upgraded, and in all cases that we are aware of they do not work correctly, or at all.
Also, you should be very careful about giving these online stores your credit card details, as they will most certainly misuse it or sell it to someone who will. We recommend informing your local police or the FBI and the BSA (https://reporting-emea.bsa.org) if you have made a purchase from such a web site and closely monitor your credit card account. If we are made aware of a web site that sells pirated copies of our software we will take legal action.
You can make sure that you are purchasing a legal copy by purchasing only from the stores that we link to on our “Online Stores” page. If you ever get a Prosoniq software from someone that comes without a serial number, or a dongle you can be certain that you have been ripped off.
