Please note that all Prosoniq Windows product development has been discontinued in June 2009
Prosoniq has discontinued all of its Windows product development, sales and support on June 1st, 2009. Users who wish to crossgrade from the latest version of their Windows product to the Mac counterpart can do so for free by contacting Prosoniq via its contact form.
Since the first consumer products that were sold in 1994 Prosoniq has always been primarily a Mac based company and most of its products, including its flagship application sonicWORX have never been available on Windows. Since Windows plug-in development had been one requirement for Prosoniq’s relationship with its former plug-in distributor Steinberg, Prosoniq agreed on porting its VST product line to Windows in 1998 for the duration of their agreement. Prosoniq and Steinberg parted in 2001 but are still successfully working together as technology licensing partners today.
Due to the current state of the economy and the widespread availability of pirated copies of their Windows products Prosoniq decided to drastically optimize its product line in 2008/09 and re-evaluate Windows software development in the process. The decision was made to focus on the development and optimization of its flagship products, invest resources into advancing its key technologies and discontinue all products that didn’t make a notable contribution to their success. As a result, Prosoniq, like other companies in the market, decided to discontinue some of its products (Rayverb and Magenta) and suspend all Windows software development in 2009 for the time being.
Contrary to its end user products all Prosoniq key technologies will continue to be available for licensing on both Windows and Mac platforms.
